Frequently Asked Questions -
CBD Extract is an oil extracted from the flowers of hemp plants. Using a process similar to that used to make vanilla extract, the dried hemp flowers are washed with a food grade alcohol. Then the alcohol is evaporated, leaving only the extract from the hemp flower. This extract is very sticky and fragrant at this stage. The extract is tested for everything from residual pesticides to heavy metals and more. Once it has passed these tests, the oil is used to create products.

The biggest difference between each of our pure hemp CBD extracts is the concentration in each bottle. How much you should take differs for each individual. If you would like to talk to our customer service team prior to purchase, they can also help you decide where to begin!
There are several different methods of administration for CBD oil. CBD oil-based tinctures are best taken sublingually, which means under the tongue. Holding the oil underneath the tongue for 30-45 seconds increases the bioavailability of the product.
Each of our bodies metabolize the naturally occurring cannabinoids in CBD products differently. For that reason, we suggest that adults take 1 full dropper sublingually (under your tongue) 2-3 times a day. It is common for people to start at the low end, and work their way up until they achieve the desired results.
Unfortunately, we are legally restricted from making any medical claims about our products. However, there are thousands of scientific and medical studies that explore the benefits of CBD. We encourage you to do some research and consult your physician if you are planning to take CBD oil to help address a specific concern.
We cannot give medical advice but we do recommend you consult your physician before adding anything new into your specific medication protocol or changing your medication dosage. There have been reports of people being able to reduce medication (depending on the medication) with the addition of CBD oil in their daily routine.
Cannabinoids are naturally occurring chemical compounds found in abundance in the cannabis plant. These compounds act on cannabinoid receptor cells throughout the body to insight various responses. CBD is one individual cannabinoid, but there are more than 130 other identified cannabinoids in the cannabis plant.
The Endocannabinoid System is a mouthful to say. Let’s just call it the ECS for short. The ECS is a system in the body which contains receptors made to interact with cannabinoids. This system is present in all animals with vertebrae. After much study of the ECS, researchers found that the system helps regulate appetite, pain-sensation, mood and memory among other things. These effects are generated once cannabinoids combine or interact with receptors in the ECS.
Cannabinoids stored at room temperature and out of direct sunlight (Amber bottles aid in this) show little to no degradation over multiple years. However, the organic carrier oils in tinctures may show signs of souring from prolonged exposure to oxygen. There is little to no risk in consuming an oxidized oil, although the flavor profile may not be the same as a fresher product. We recommend consuming CBD tinctures within 1 year of the manufacture date for the best taste and efficacy. Topical products may change consistency if exposed to fluctuations in temperature. Although Targeted Topicals stored at room temperature or below are certified shelf-stable for 2 years, we recommend using them within approximately one calendar year of manufacture.
Much like the consumption of poppy seeds may lead to a positive drug test for opioids, the consumption of certain hemp products may lead to a positive drug test for THC. Most workplace drug screens target THC and do not detect CBD. CBD products do contain trace amounts of THC, however, the amount of THC stored in fat cells depends on each individual person’s metabolism. Although the risk is low, we cannot guarantee that THC will be absent in a drug test. We strongly suggest consulting your health care provider before consuming any hemp products if you are subject to drug testing.
Confusion often arises because these terms are so similar. Pure hemp extract typically refers to CBD oil. Hemp seed oil is a food and beauty product additive that can be purchased in many grocery stores. Hemp seed oil can be compared to oils such as avocado, almond and walnut. It is created by pressing hemp seeds together until the oil inside is excreted. Hemp seed oil has a lot of great uses in foods and beauty products but does not contain the cannabinoid profile nor properties found in CBD oil.
